Description of Services:	Provides services that promote physical and mental health for community members Coordinates health care services through Nursing station Provides physician consultations a few days per month with a visiting physician from Sioux Lookout Provides health awareness and counselling, education and prevention workshops especially in the areas of diabetes and alcohol/drug abuse Coordinates clinics/workshops in areas that may include Diabetes, Immunization, Sexual Health and Communicable Diseases Offers a palliative care program when required Participates in the Sachigo Lake Wilderness Emergency Response Education Initiative (SLWEREI) which teaches comprehensive first aid/mental health first aid to enable community members/first responders to provide the appropriate level of emergency care Coordinates ongoing emergency response education to groups of community members Addresses individual health care needs by providing: Advocacy on behalf of individual with other health professionals Coordination of one-on-one pre-natal care with the community health nurse Home visits to the sick, elderly, new mothers and persons with health care needs Assistance with coordinating local and long distance travel arrangements for medical appointments Ontario Telemedicine Network (OTN) Provides access to specialized medical care using videoconferencing and other tele-diagnostic equipment Allows specialists to remotely examine and prescribe treatments to patients in their home communities Reduces the need to travel to receive care Services and Programs: Band Office - Mental Health Program Band Office - National Native Alcohol and Drug Abuse Program Immunization Clinic Medical Transportation Program Sachigo Lake Business Centre Complex - Aboriginal Diabetes Initiative Sachigo Lake Business Centre Complex - Brighter Futures Program Sachigo Lake Business Centre Complex - Crisis Intervention Sachigo Lake Business Centre Complex - Healthy Babies Healthy Children
