Description of Services:	Provides services that promote physical and mental health for community members Coordinates health care services through a nursing station health team consisting of community health nurses/nurse practitioners, a community health representative and a full-time counsellor Provides Physician consultations twice per month through a visiting physician from Sioux Lookout Provides treatment and emergency services Promotes positive lifestyle practices and illness prevention activities Coordinates clinics/workshops in areas that may include Diabetes, Immunization, Sexual Health and Communicable Diseases Provides mental health services including counselling Coordinates visits from dentists and optometrists periodically through the year Addresses individual health care needs by providing: Advocacy on behalf of individual with other health professionals Coordination of one-on-one pre-natal care with the community health nurse Home visits to the sick, elderly, new mothers and persons with health care needs Assistance with coordinating local and long distance travel arrangements for medical appointments Ontario Telemedicine Network (OTN) Provides access to specialized medical care using videoconferencing and other tele-diagnostic equipment Allows specialists to remotely examine and prescribe treatments to patients in their home communities Reduces the need to travel to receive care Services and Programs: Nibinamik Education Centre - Early Childhood Development Crisis Intervention Daycare Program Diabetes Program Family Well Being Program Healthy Babies Healthy Children Home and Community Care Medical Transportation Program Mental Health Program National Native Alcohol and Drug Abuse Program Youth Program
