Family Birthing Centre
Description of Services: Offering education, information, and advice to pregnant women and their partners to ensure the healthy development and birth of their baby, as well as the health and well-being of the parents
  • Tours - prenatal tours of the Family Birthing Centre on Thursday evenings at 6pm * registration required
  • Prenatal Classes - preparation for birth experience including pregnancy, birth and early weeks with the baby
  • Breastfeeding Classes - information about initiating breastfeeding, how to prepare, common challenges, baby positioning, etc. * Monday nights 7pm-8pm
  • Baby Care Classes - education on basic skills of caring for a new baby, such as bathing and diapering * Wednesday or Thursday evenings 7:30pm-9:30pm
  • Grandparent Classes - learn how to support both adult children and new grandchildren * Wednesday evenings 7pm-10pm
  • Infant CPR Classes - education on how to handle emergency situations with infants * taught by a certified Heart and Stroke Instructor
Requirements
Fees: Breastfeeding class: $20/couple
Grandparent Class: $30/ person
Infant CPR Class: $45/person or $80/couple
