Description of Services: Oversees the operations and maintenance of community infrastructure and related services
Performs a variety of operations and maintenance tasks including:
  • Sanitary, storm sewer and water main break repairs, design, construction, rehabilitation and maintenance, including annual hydrant flushing
  • Street, sidewalk and laneway maintenance and snow plowing
  • Grass cutting and tree planting
  • Water and sewer locates
  • Landfill operations
  • Maintenance of a Public Works garage located at 8 Mercury Ave
  • Maintenance and operation of the Atikokan Airport
Hazardous Waste Collection Day free of charge, for community residents once per year in the autumn from 10 am-2 pm at Public Works Yard; advertised on township website and in local newspaper
