Description of Services:
  • Assists homeowners with repairs to address health and safety issues and increase energy efficiency
  • Provides assistance in the form of an interest-free forgivable loan
  • Provides a grant to make a home more accessible for a household member with a disability
  • Repairs may include:
    • Doors and windows
    • Electrical
    • Fire safety
    • Heating
    • Plumbing
    • Roofs
    • Septic systems
    • Structural
    • Well water
    • Improved accessibility such as ramps, handrails, chair and bath lifts, height adjustment for countertops and cues for doorbells/fire alarms
    • Safety-related features that help seniors stay in their home
    Requirements
    Fees: None
    Eligibility - Population(s) Served:
    • Low to moderate income homeowners

    • The house must be the sole and principle residence

    • The house must be in urgent need of repair to bring it up to a reasonable standard

    • Cash and assets must be at or below $20,000 (includes savings accounts and bonds, excludes RRSP/RESP/RDSP)
