Program: Substance Use Service/Addictions Medicine

Description of Services: Integrated approach for people living with problematic use of alcohol, opioids, benzodiazepines, cannabis, or other drugs

Services include:
  • assessment of substance use concerns and treatment options
  • brief individual counselling and psychotherapy
  • management of acute alcohol and opioid withdrawal 
  • outpatient tapering for people on high dose opioids and benzodiazepines
  • medication assisted treatment for alcohol, opioid, and cannabis use disorders
  • group counselling (early recovery group and seeking safety group)
  • referral to longer term treatment programs
  • reintegration support for patients who have completed residential treatment
  • education on overdose prevention and use of naloxone
