| Description of Services: | Support program for individuals with mental illness who are currently involved in the legal system. - Psychiatric and psychosocial assessments including diagnosis and treatment recommendations at various stages of court proceedings - Individual counselling and therapy - Group treatment that may include anger release and management; social skills training; family therapy and mediation; and support groups - Pharmacotherapy - Community services including education and mental health promotion - Education and consultation to mental health professionals, support workers and members of the public - Participation in research aiming at a better understanding of individuals with mental illness who are involved in the legal system | ||

| Eligibility - Population(s) Served: | Clients with Legal Issues Only ; Forensic Mental Health Only | ||
| Application: | Must have active criminal court issues and a psychiatric issue or concern. All referrals require OHIP and screening. This service is intended for adults who reside in the Greater Toronto Area, with a priority given to North York residents; have legal problems that may be related to mental health problems; are eligible to be seen in a non-custodial setting; must not be imminently dangerous to themselves, to staff members or the community; show a willingness to participate in the program and comply with treatment; and show an absence of a disability that would prevent collaboration with treatment. | ||
